The weeks just before or after peak season often offer the best balance of good weather, fewer crowds, and lower prices. April-May and September-October are golden for Europe.
Rainy Season Isn't Always Bad
Many tropical destinations have brief afternoon showers during "rainy season" but are otherwise beautiful. You'll get lower prices and fewer tourists for a trade-off of occasional rain.
